Rob Moroso was a professional stock car racer who competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was born on July 26, 1968 in Madison, Connecticut. Moroso began his racing career in the NASCAR Busch Series before moving up to the Winston Cup Series.
Moroso had a promising career in NASCAR, winning the Busch Series championship in 1989 and the Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors in 1990. However, his career was tragically cut short when he died in a car crash on September 30, 1990. Moroso was driving under the influence of alcohol and crashed his car, resulting in his death at the age of 22.
Despite his untimely death, Rob Moroso is still remembered as a talented and promising young racer who had the potential for a successful career in NASCAR. He was inducted into the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame in 1996.
